The development of green processes for the synthesis of nanomaterials is evolving into an important branch of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology involves creating and manipulating organic and inorganic matter at the nanoscale. Microbial nanotechnology is based on the use of microorganisms, including algae, bacteria, actinobacteria and fungi for synthesis of metallic and non-metallic nanomaterials. In addition, it discusses about role of biogenically synthesized nanoparticles in medicine and health, food and agriculture, energy, environment, etc. It also covers toxicity and safety issues.
