This enlarged and revised book, adopting an integrated approach to wave phenomena, covers the total requirements of syllabi for undergraduate students in physics and engineering in Indian universities. Solved examples have been added throughout, in addition to the end-chapter problems. An appendix on non-linear oscillations has also been added. Examples from contemporary fields are drawn to illustrate a particular phenomenon. The style of presentation is lucid and direct and sufficient mathematical details are included so as to sustain the interest.
